my name is jack chen -- jack tchen. i am cofounder of museum of chinese in america. chinatown has had a disappeared history but also a history that people seem to, for tourists, a sense that people feel very familiar with chinatown. but the chinatown they are the money with is not historically accurate. coming out of that, i have been looking at new york city history. i teach at new york university. just this past summer, mayor bill de blasio set up a commission to look at public art , monuments, and markers. he gave 90 days to do that. it was an impossible task that was set up. to his credit, he wanted to do something. at the same time, he immediately started talking about removing certain markers on columbus circle. that immediately caused a media -- furor. in the process of those meetings it became clear whether those monuments state or not, there was a deeper issue the city was not addressing. a number of us began pointing that out. mustre talking about how we had a larger context of how the city talked about itself, that actually these free-floating discussions

jack klein. jack, very good to have you. what does this mean, jack? they're saying by 2020 you could make a case, certainly by ths a good possibility but what are they basing it on? i think it's a possibility and it is the best guess we have that by end of 2019 or early 2020 that there is a good possibility that we might see the end. of course we are beginning the second longest expansion right now as we get into 2018. the growth rate we're seeing for 2017 is not a bad pace. certainly at about 2.8% for this year and 2.7% for 2019. we need to recognize that the economy is functioning fairly well. neil: you could make the argument things are picking up a little bit. one quarter does not a trend make. >> that's correct. neil: we've seen trends, all of sudden employment report, including those at the atlanta fed saying we could see 4 1/2% clip activity. first of all, do you see that? does that type of data push this doomsday scenario back a bit? >> i think there is data in the survey that suggests could push things back. industrial production sentiment at

jack came up and what can i do for you? they said, we want a wedding cake. jack's response was for who? it was apparent, charlie and david were sitting there. they are a loving couple. it was clear the cake was for them. they said, it is for us. at that point, jack said no. i do not do wedding cakes for same-sex couples. there was a silence. charlie and david looked at each other and they stood up, along with their mom, debbie, and walked out. got in the car and on their way home, charlie started to cry. david got upset that charlie was upset and went home and put it on his facebook page. can you believe this happened to us? we just wanted a cake. that started what landed in front of the supreme court. the next day, debbie was upset so she called jack and said, why did you do that? why did you refuse to make my son a wedding cake? jack said, i do not believe in same-sex marriage, same-sex marriage is not legal in colorado and it was against his religious beliefs. from that facebook page, it went viral and the support poured out for charlie and david and a lot of support for jack, too. that is how we found ourselves, charlie and david were encouraged to file a complaint with the colorado civil rights division. the division agreed there was probab
