joining me to talk about jack keane. >> good to see you, maria.u spoke with staffers about this. what do you make of this. mick mulvaney is always looking to cut, cut, he's a budget hawk. >> he's a tea-party guy. most people do in washington. it is a law that's capping the budget for 2017 and operating what we call a continuing resolution. we don't have a 2017 budget so we have a continuing resolution that holds us to 2016 budget levels. he has come in with and needs to change the law. to change the law you have to get the senate to approve it and need the filibuster rule to bust it because domestic spending is being cut complementary to defense increases, it's unlikely that they will approve it. so despite the fact that the president is talking about defense increases, those increases in the near term are unlikely. the senate armed san -- services mentioned to me yesterday. maria: he thinks he's going to raise money for defense spending and it's not happening. it's not getting there. if the military does not get a lot more money than currently pe
