you heard my conversation with general jack keane.hat a strike is necessary, that a strong response is the only thing that will change the dynamic care. what do you say? >> first ball he made a lot of very legitimate points, but we have a commander in chief and he has said he does not want war with iran and the saudi arabians said the same thing. the unfortunate part of all of this is iran continues to push the envelope. i don't think we're there yet, but it's very, very close and the difficulty is the iranians are just notorious for making bad judgments, bad calculations, miscalculating, and they are doing that now. they need to listen carefully to what the president said. he doesn't want war with iran. having said that, sometimes you get pulled into something and have to do something that you don't necessarily want to do. the iranians are very, very close to that. this was such a deliberate and overwhelming use of military force that is very hard to look the other way. the president has added some additional sanctions. there's going

joining me now is fox news senior strategic analyst, retired lieutenant jen jack keane. -- general jackeane. great to have you on, sir. what do you think? >> first of all, the iranians have been back on their heels now throughout this entire crisis in a way i have never seen because everything they have done has backfired. they have sieged and sabotaged tankers, put pressure on the united states to reduce sanctions we increase sanctions. they blackmail to try to get economic relife but violating -- relief by violating restrictions on the nuclear deal. 5% of the world economy impacted with this. what do we do about this? well, first of all, i think this administration will try to politically, economically and diplomatically isolate the iranians as a result of this. that's the first step, and i think the means to do is as you suggest, i would start with the u.n. security council emergency session, once we have all the evidence, go in there ourselves as one of the five members, bring the saudis in as a guest, and together make a presentation on how the iranians are complicit in this attack
