i first real job was with congress been jack kemp. that was a great job for me, i was a legislative assistant. i was writing a brief call the legislative digest on capitol hill that the republican congressman use as a summary of each bill that comes out. i was one of the people that wrote that brief, a great way to get exposed to the issues. it was great to work for jack, who would later boomerang back to me. under president bush. frederick: why did you make this decision to stop talking to members of congress and start talking like other people and acting like other people? packing your car and moving to california? >> i sort of completed all my goals. in washington, i worked in the office of management's and budgets. i work at the cabinet department, i felt like i did everything to do. i wanted to head for the sunshine and fun. i have been in washington for 11 years. i figured, it is interesting washington and los angeles are very similar towns in some anyways. each one is about networking, you are the only as good as the last job.
