eastern, we have an exclusive interview with treasury secretary jack lew. steve liesman will be here with that. we'll be covering everything from economic growth to slapping sanctions on russia. we start this morning about a look at the markets and a focus on what's been happening with the fed. the federal reserve will be releasing the minutes of its last meeting on march 18th and 19th. that is expected at 2:00 p.m. eastern time. market will be looking for hawkish comments luing anything related to the discussion on changes in forward guidance. that will be happening at 2:00 p.m. eastern time today. if you take a look at where the markets stand right now, the futures are indicated higher. dow futures up by 33 points, s&p futures indicated up by 2 points and the nasdaq up by 9 points. the major u.s. average managed to snap a three-session losing streak yesterday. although it wasn't much to write home about. the dow added about ten points. the s&p 500 added six points while the nasdaq after one of its worst three-day gains. it closes at 4,112. as for the ten-

speaking to cnbc's steve liesman exclusively, jack lew outlined the action he would like to see taken>> the risk of low demand and the risk of deflation is something that they need to be very alert to and they need to take a little more, not a little less. >> so those are the views of jack lew. but what is the view of yens wideman? >> actually it sounds a little bit different, what mr. wideman, the president of germany's central bank, the bundesbank, had to say. he was saying in the interview, he's seeing deflationary risks as pretty limited. also he was actually not going to travel to washington. he was telling me to sort of be on one page with the u.s., also the imf, because he thinks the bundesbank thinks, that the economic recovery in the eurozone is actually stronger than those voices or those people are thinking. and that by the economic recovery picking up here in the eurozone, also inflation will pick up in the eurozone, at least in the medium term horizon, he was reiterating inflation will be closer to 2% after three years from now. so that doesn't really -- that doesn't real

treasury secretary jack lew is going to be meeting with the finance minister later today.hey're going to be discussing the aid that u.s. has already promised to ukraine. meanwhile, if you look at what's happening this morning in ukraine, it's extremely tense there. there has been more violence today as more pro-russian separatists try to take over various towns in the eastern part of ukraine and ukrainiaukr government is sending in troops to address that problem. something the u.s. is watching very closely. in fact, it was this similar kind of violence over the weekend that prompted that emergency u.n. security council meeting. the obama administration is accusing russia of insighting much of this violence and now the administration is looking at additional sanctions. could be things on specific sectors like energy, also banking and mining. and some people are saying even more needs to be done. john mccain has said that the u.s. should look to send and that's something that could be on the table now that this tension keeps on escalating and things do not look good in ukrai
