jack otter: you made a lot of great calls. give us one. ck hough: another highflying growth stock where i did get close to the bottom, with reported earnings, it turned a surprise profit that had the stock move up 50% or so and the company looks like it is still doing well in the online business. selling stuff to people who have pets. jack otter: what is the investment listings? one is a falling knife and the other is a bargain. jack hough: you have to go to the fundamentals. if it doesn't have earnings there will be a problem and if it has earnings those earnings have to be growing, not shrinking. jack otter: you have a new button, when would you push it? carleton: when i called for bed, bath, and beyond. this is a retailer that has been under pressure for some time. we have a new management team, just as we were getting some momentum on that plan, the pandemic hit. the company was given a path but it is more clear the problems aren't just pandemic related, and maybe it can't be the turnaround story everyone wants. jack otter: earlier this

jack otter: shock us, jack hough. jack hough: european shares will beat us shares in 2023. i did a cover story a couple months ago about strong us dollar and why that's an indication you should be buying shares overseas. a plain vanilla vanguard etf, return 24% since then, twice what the s&p has returned so it is starting to happen and europe looks cheap at 11 times earnings. i know you are thinking there are no exciting companies in europe. it is not true. the dutch one make the chipmaking machines. i don't need accounting figures, don't have a number 2. there are not a lot beyond that one. jack otter: nestlÉ has chocolates. up to 24 if you don't like kick cats you are not even trying to be happy. than the second best jumbo jets in europe. the key is the currency. if you have chip currency it's not good for export and if exports are working it is good for earnings and that is why shares can outperform. jack otter: you don't need google. jack hough: i am betting for america to underperform europe in 2023. jack otter: i am sitting down, shot me. carleton: in 2,022 i thought

jack otter: is there a running theme this year?have a healthcare stock, tech stock, downhill stock but a lot of the stocks think are down 25% or more. carleton: looking at amazon, we are looking at a tricky holiday shopping season, got an ugly print, what do you see in amazon. what l stands on them? andrew: it is 50%. because of they are extended on infrastructure, determined to write that and we will see that next year. the online retailing business, concluding operations. carleton: you like bank of america. i'm used to jpmorgan being the bellwether for the industry. is b of a replacing from? andrew: it one of the best managed banks, ryan moynahan rival jamie dimon in his ability and you got a stop which is trading reasonably, 10 times next year's earnings and a 3% dividend yield, big risk is recession but bank of america is one of the best portfolios in the industry. they could be insulated if something happens. jack otter: the housing market is beating home sales, prices might be falling, homebuilders are depressed according to

jack otter: you are not losing sleep over elon musk kicking these journalist off of twitter. portant things. jack hough: paying attention to the wrong things, the frizzy haired crypto founder, bankman-fried getting let off in handcuffs, the latest mayhem on twitter, selling tesla stock and donald trump, the clickable cards, his head on the bodies of astronauts, cowboys, i saw one with laser beam eyes. there were other things, other developments. for the record, us scientists generated power from nuclear fusion for the first time and moderna had results from a trial of vaccines for preventing recurrence of melanoma. unlimited clean energy down the road, and a shot at curing cancer. i don't want to divert from the action cards or elon tweets. jack otter: accentuate the positive. two more positives. carleton: i'm positive anna financial, charles schwab will position for 2023 as much of the sector is but they are not going to get that pressure from net interest margins when they have to start paying their sabers for their deposits. analysts see upside of 17% in 2023. jack otter: y
