people can take the oakland alameda water shuttle from jack london square to alameda landing for free. ktvu ali rasmus is one of the lucky ones aboard the ferries maiden voyage. hi ali. >> hi. yes, we just came over from jack london square. now we're on the alameda side. one of the things that surprised me is how fast this shuttle gets from one side of the estuary to the other. it took just about five minutes. so now we're on the alameda side. this is near circle immigrant park. and so you see some of the people from alameda getting on board. you'll notice bicycles are also allowed and welcome on this ferry. in fact, that's one of the reasons why they have this new oakland alameda water shuttle. it's to safely give people another option on their bikes and pedestrians to get from oakland to alameda quickly. and the only alternative is taking the posey tube driving. and of course, that's not always a pleasant experience if you're biking on that tiny path and there's a lot of congestion on that route as well. so we're talking to some of the people who are getting on board here from alameda. let's see if
