news4 jackie benson is live in temple hills, maryland with what is going on now. jackie? >> reporter: doreen, take a look behind me. a big and some what surprising a cause of much excitement here. it is the result of the ruling by the maryland public service commission which said it determined pepco and washington gas had not provided sufficient notice of shut off as provided by maryland law. they have to post noticed 14 days before utility termination is supposed to occur. a short time ago, we spoke with david gilmore, the president of the condo board. >> i think it is improper and we are excited for the ruling to take place. >> reporter: it looks like somebody listens. >> yes, indeed. >> reporter: what is the next snep. >> make sure we're working on in the by laws and make sure the county is supporting us in the next steps we need to stabilize the property. >> a pepco spokesperson tells news4 that it did receive the disconnection of electrical service is a last resort, that the utility only takes after all other options are exhausted. live in temple hills, jackie benson
