collins in vienna, virginia. >>> more on the breaking news in northwest d.c. where a pedestrian was involved in a hit and run on 14th and up shire street. jackie has the latest. >> reporter: this is a bizarre and disturbing story. we are told two groups of men were fighting near this intersection. a very crowded intersection, kids coming home from school, people out on their porches when one of the men ran out into the street after being chased by a pit bull that was sicked on him we are told. when he ran out into the street, he was struck by a vehicle. police tell us it oo a maroon colored jeep liberty, a late model. it struck the man and pinned him. if you could come back out to us at the scene, pinned him to a minivan. the jeep took off north on 14th street. the police are searching for the vehicle at this time. the late model maroon jeep liberty is heavily damaged. as to the person who was struck, it's an adult male. it's not a child. not a teenager. that person is in very, very grave condition sustained extremely serious injuries as a result of the hit and run accident this afternoon. d.c. police are here on the scene documenting what the
