jackie spear will explain the latest to mayors across the bay area. this comes after pacific gas and electric co. says it's looking into replacing about 300 manual gas valves with newer technology aimed at preventing disasters such as the san bruno pipeline explosion.the san francisco- based utility said monday it is evaluating areas of its gas transmission system where it could install automatically or remotely controlled valves that would allow faster shut-off of natural gas if there's an accident.the valves can cost between 1.5 million and 100 million. the company also says it didn't find any immediate safety issues when it surveyed nearly 16 miles of transmission pipeline in the san bruno area. but it did find and repair 38 leaks in populated areas during another survey. >> now the latest out of midwest. rain and wind played today in the region a giant storm that they say could be the most powerful to hit illinois in seven decades. this is o'hara airport 125 flights have been delayed or canceled. dan has been tracking the storm. wisconsin are torn
