our jackie ward is live out there monitoring the russian river and has been the last few days. we have another dry day with mostly cloudy skies. rain returns late tonight into saturday morning and turning to scattered showers wit turecast let's check in with gianna franco for a check of traffic. >> we have a few more accidents trickle into the traffic center. the first one is in the south bay. south 101, just as you past the 280 connector, we are getting word of a car that hit debris in the roadway. it was blocking one lane. they moved everything over to the shoulder. looking at the sensors, we have decent speeds working your way through there. there are not a lot of cars on the roadway just yet, despite their accident, traffic is moving okay. elsewhere, we do have a trouble spot on the 101 where the right lane is blocked. there is activity on the right shoulder, as well. traffic is a little slow approaching the pass. no delays across the bay. if you're coming in 880 southbound we have a reports of a crash in the number two lane from the left. we will see stop and go conditions

jackie ward tells us now senator dianne feinstein is calling for the u. s. to ground them, as well. >> reporter: austria and south korea are the two latest countries to ground the boeing 737 max 8s aircrafts. senator feinstein wants to 880 america to that list. she wrote a letter saying she wants to temporarily ground these planes until the cause of the crashes are known and it is known similar risks are not present in the domestic fleet. a crash involving a boeing 737 max 8s sunday is what prompted the letter. a 157 people on board were killed. that was a second crash in a matter of six months involving this type of aircraft. in late october, another boeing 737 max 8s operated by lion air crashed off the coast of indonesia, killed all 189 of its passengers. before each crash, the pilots reported technical difficulties as they struggled to gain altitude before making a steep nosedive and crashing within 15 minutes of taking off. >> boeing builds fantastic airplanes. even if this is the same thing as a lion air accident six months ago, it is easily solvable.

kpix 5's jackie ward is joining us live with all the repairs will impact your commute. >> reporter: iow if you could tell from your camera back there, traffic here on the richmond side of the richmond- san rafael bridge doesn't look too bad. we are the toll plaza. a lot of this construction work we are talking about this morning will hopefully be done overnight and not impact morning commuters to badly. construction began here last night. they are trying to fix those areas where the concrete fell off in chunks last month. this project is expected to last three months. there using jackhammers and blowtorches, along with heavy equipment to demolish the existing joint and replace them with new ones. on february 7, one of those joints broke apart and sent concrete down onto the cars on the lower deck of the bridge. no one was hurt. it had to be really scary. traffic was badly impacted for the rest of the day. for the next three months, we are talking about into mid-june time of year, there will be construction starting at 9 pm and hopefully wrapping up by 5 am. this morning we saw crews s
