we in jacksonville, florida, will be celebrating 99 years with our friend, dr. fran kennedy, on may 22 of this year. dr. kenny is first in florida in many ways. in 1979, she became the first woman president of a florida college, jacksonville university, j.u. prior in 1961 she became the founding dean of j.u.'s college of fine arts, the first woman in florida to hold such a position. in fact, it was her idea to form the college where she had been a humanities professor for several years. she was the first woman elected as president of the international council of fine arts, and not only the first woman in florida's first rotary club, the rotary club of jacksonville, she later became the first woman president of that club. she also became the first woman member of a club in jacksonville called the river club, again, the first woman member. as you can tell, dr. fran kenny was first in many ways and a role model to not only women in jacksonville, florida, but all across this great country. to those of us who know her well, she was also first in our hearts. a tireles

many years ago i got a chance to work, when i was first starting my career in northern florida, jacksonville. i went to speak to a school group. i talked to them about hail. all the kids looked at me like i was crazy for saying that word. they thought i was in deep trouble. no big trouble this morning. we have some rain. we've scene shoween showers hug new jersey coastline. at the shore, not only shower bus storms to the east. then we're finally clearing out tonight. the storms move out. heading out the door right now, in the 50s. allentown, philadelphia, trenton, atlantic city. these numbers are running warmer in mt. holly and trenton. 50s to start with. i think we'll be in the low 80s in philadelphia this afternoon. but there's still some showers to deal with. they're hugging the coastline. atlantic city, cape may, this is all the same system we had for days spinning off shore. inland, the further inland you go, the more likely you won't need an umbrella. you'll see sunshine. along the coastline, interior new jersey, that's where showers are most likely. future cast really shows it well. t
