molly: steve harrigan, sunny down there in jacksonville beach, thank you.eak down the timeline, we have meteorologist adam klotz who, of course, tracking from the fox weather center. >> reporter: hey there, molly. still a storm we have to pay very close attention to. this is what we're looking at, these winds hanging around 65 miles an hour. this storm as it works up the eastern half of the states, most of that heavy precipitation, all those really strong winds are a little farther out to sea, so the worst of this not necessarily hitting florida as of right now. but as we get closer to landfall, that is going to become a more serious situation. this'll be lifting its way up the coast maybe eventually are making landfall around the myrtle beach area. you're going to be getting close to north carolina and south carolina, that's going to be monday night into tuesday morning. so we run our way up the coast. once you eventually make that landfall, that's when the winds really start to die down, so you fall from 60 miles an hour pretty quickly down to 50 and 40 m

especially from jupiter up to jacksonville. we expect two to four feet of storm surge. but keep in mind this is on top of what the normal high tide would be. and in some areas, the full moon is on monday. so in some areas, these high tides are going to be at their highest point all month. so keep that in mind. here's a look at the track. when we talk about some of those tides, west palm beach, the average should be about 3.27. so now you have to factor in an additional 1 to 2 feet on top of that. farther to the north, jacksonville, for example, their high tide should be about six feet. now you have to add two feet on top of that. charleston, south carolina, kind of known for flooding in these particular situations, expecting a high tide around 6.2 feet. you will also likely have to factor a couple of feet on top of that as well. one of the other things to notice is that there's still model discrepancy here. about half the models still want a landfall somewhere over florida. the other half just want to skirt along the east coast. where they do all come into alignment is

that's why hurricane warnings extend all the way from jacksonville to south florida. now the continuous track we could potentially again see another landfall for wilmington, north carolina. it goes back out to sea and now the forecast is saying landfall also for portions of the northeast. that's a lot of time that we'll continue to watch this track. the cone of uncertainty has started to come together due to the consolidation of the center of the storm as it is starting to gain steam. i looked at the radar. we are not seeing a ton of moisture from isaias. potentially up to a foot of rain. that's going to cause flooding for low lying areas of miami. the big problem is tropical storm-force winds. they extend. we could see 80-mile-an-hour wind gusts. that is really on our radar across the florida panhandle this afternoon. you are seeing that live shot at the beach with the waves picking up at the beach. what i haven't touched on is the low tide and high tide. with the tropical storm-force winds, the storm surge is something we are watching even for the bahamas. now the l

this is going to be one of the most widespread threats across florida because from jupiter to jacksonville2 to 4 feet, but this is on top of astronomical high tides because monday is actually a full moon. so you're going to be seeing a lot of some of the highest tides for the entire month concurring with this storm as it slides up the east coast. here is a look at it through today and then stretching into tomorrow as it continues up towards daytona beach and jacksonville. tropical storm watches just issued across portions of the georgia coast as well because it will track up through there. one thing to note, rainfall won't necessarily be highest in florida despite the fact that it will be so close. where we're going to see some of the highest rain is actually going to be from say south carolina all the way up through massachusetts. widespread amounts there, erica. likely 2 to 4 inches but there will be some spots that pick up 6, 8, even 10 inches of rain before the system finally pushes out. >> wow. that is a lot coming our way. allison, appreciate it. thank you. >>> as we continue to trac

with me now from jacksonville, florida, sam brock, also with me is tremayne lee, host of the podcastam, let me begin with you, schools back in session in florida. what precautions are in place for those returning to a traditional classroom setting? >> ayman, good morning. it is all over the map right now. we have seen about a dozen school districts in the state of florida reopen the school doors, either already or at some point this week. where i am right now, jacksonville, duvall county, they're going to open things up next week starting the 20th and have taken a number of precautions already. one of them is giving pre-k through second-graders face masks and face shields. they are erecting desk shields around the third to fifth grade desks in the classrooms and requiring masks for everybody, staff members and students, and with few exceptions. it is going to be on buses, in classrooms, common areas. the only exception to that, ayman, would be a situation where it is pe or recess or band. but that's about it. that's very different from what we have seen in other parts of the state. b

in the meantime, isaias is spending time on the jacksonville coast. with tropical storm strength at the moment. as to where it goes from here it will skirt the eastern seaboard on the track it's been on all week. it should not regain hurricane strength but it will remain a tropical storm all the way up through boston and beyond. into main? that's pretty weird. the story will be not so much the wind but 5-10 inches of rain and it could be a big problem. we are in the 60s around the bay area, low clouds that will retreat from the shoreline and back in on monday and tuesday morning. more extensive low clouds coming in by tuesday because of what's happening. low pressure in the gulf will increase. the low will throw a trough over california so we will cool off after midweek. it's unusual but what isn't these days. back to the 80s for wednesday and thursday. if you've got clear skies right now you can go out and see the moon, look to the right of the moon and you will see this bright star which is in fact the planet jupiter. in between jupiter and the moon
