jacob blake, sr. stin blake, the father and uncle of jacob blake, the black man shot by kenosha police, sparking protest in the city. on august 23, 2020, a white police officer fired seven shots, at point-blank into the back of jacob blake as blake leaned into his car. inside the car were blake's three sons, aged three, five, and eight. jacob blake is partially paralyzed. his uncle justin joins us from milwaukee. he stood outside the courthouse every day during the kyle rittenhouse trial. and we are joined by justin's -- jacob blake's father, jacob blake, senior, who is joining us from charlotte, north carolina. jacob blake, let's begin with you. you are jacob blake's dad. he spent a lot of time in kenosha. not quite as much is justin and we will talk about that in a moment. but can you talk about the verdict in this case, in the case of the young man, a teenager, armed with an ar-15 who shot to death two protesters who were in solidarity with your son who was killed by a -- who was shot seven times an

i think more importantly, you know, for all the supporters of jacob blake, all the individuals acrosss country who stood in solidarity with the blake family, i think it's important to know that social justice is not a moment but it's a movement. and we still have a lot of work to do and myself, attorney ben crump and civil rights lawyers in this country have to come together and restrategize as to how we're going to address these issues going forward. >> the family of anthony huber, one of the men killed by rittenhouse says in a statement, i'll read it, "today's verdict sends the unacceptable message that arms civilians can show up at any town incite violence and then use the danger to justify shooting people in the street." do you agree? does this embolden, do you believe, others to follow rittenhouse's example? >> yes. i think this is a very, very dangerous precedent that has been set. i mean as an attorney in the state of wisconsin along with georgia and texas, i believe that it's important that we have clear standards in be able to hold individuals accountable for engaging and pro

you helped to organize protests in the wake of the jacob blake shooting. what was your reaction to the verdict and what are you hearing from others in kenosha tonight? >> well, first, i'm active in my community. i don't know if i carry the full title of activist but i'm very active in my community, don. what i make of it? i really didn't. it was par for the course with this verdict. many within my direct community, the african-american community of kenosha, many of us were at a funeral of one of our very own, maurkice wallace, jr., who was gunned down last week due to gun violence. so we were there today when the verdict happened was during the service of the funeral. so we literally were just -- we're still mourning from that. and so when we got the news, it was, okay, this is -- this is america. reference to childish gambino, but many of our leading activists here with me -- kyle johnson, i'm sorry -- who's over bloc, black leaders organizeing for communities, they've been having community conversations and poetry and song and dance for healing -- all fo
