we'll see, jose. >> jacob rascon, thank you very much. and we have breaking news from the supreme court this morning. i want to bring in nbc's justice correspondent, pete williams. >> first big 4-4 tie in an argued case. this is what a tie vote in the supreme court looks like. it says the judgment is affirmed by an equally divided court. that means the court was 4-4. this is a case, one of the bigger cases of the term. a challenge to public employee union dues requirements. challenger said people who did not want to join a public employee union should not have to pay any dues at all. right now, you pay part of the dues that go to the cost of collective bargaining, but the challengers said that would violate their free speech rights because just about anything is an issue of public importance. the court split 4-4. two things about that. number one, what does that mean inthe lower court ruling remains in place. that's the part about the judgment is affirmed. the unions won in the lower courts. so this means that victory for them stays. ther
