let me go over to jacob rascon who is in florida. jacob, you have some new reporting from this battleground state. you're talking to folks out there, what are you hearing? >> reporter: so what we're hearing on the ground, and this is not new to florida. we've heard this in other places where trump support lers come up to us, sometimes visibly frustrated because they want to volunteer for the campaign on the ground, but they have trouble getting in contact with whomever they would need to do that with. this person we've talked to said he couldn't find the campaign address. went to the address ligsed. it was vacant. and then after that, he tried to contact other folks. take a listen to some of what he said. >> people that do different functions. and they need a leader, in the county and in florida that's going to really get behind and tell people what they can do. i called south florida and got a volunteer, and she said, well you need to contact the republican party. they went ahead and organized and got a data base of volunteers, they

we have live reports from the campaign trail, and jacob rascon is covering the trump campaign and kasiet is following the clinton campaign for us. and let me begin with you jacob, if i can, and get your intake on trump's reaction to ted cruz's endorsement. and donald trump said at one point he would not accept cruz's support. >> reporter: he said he didn't want it or need it and would not accept it and now he says he is greatly honored. this is something the trump campaign is thrilled to have. they wanted to unify as much as possible the republican party. this is a stunning reversal, of course, and you heard cruz talk about conscience. he made it an issue of conscience the entire time, stung everybody when during his convention speech he didn't endorse, and he instead said vote your conscience, and he is still talking about conscience but in a different way. he says his conscience cannot allow hillary clinton to become president and must do everything he can to stop her. he said his decision was first that he pledged to do so last year. last year, that he must do everything he can to st

jacob rascon and kasie hunt are on the trail for us. in roanoke, virginia, where donald trump will hold a rally later today. giving us a preview of what the tone of the debate might be like. >> he may be doing just that in the last hour or so he tweeted in response to mark cuban, another billionaire who is supporting hillary clinton earlier this week, said he would be on the front row of the debate. now trump is tweeting in response calling him dopey and saying maybe he should invite gennifer flowers to sit in the front row right next to him, bringing up an accusation from the 1990s about an extramarital affair with bill clinton. we did not figure trump said he would not want to bring up those kinds of things in the debate, but he appears to be doing that ahead of the debate. as far as roanoke, we are talking to trump supporters about what they would say to trump about the debate. how would they advise him? what would they say? how must he win this debate? here is some of what they said. >> i think he needs to stay on top, as far as ques

let's bring in nbc's jacob rascon right outside the church in detroit. e from you what the atmosphere and mood is outside. also, if you saw donald trump enter the church, what the mood and atmosphere was like when that happened? >> reporter: joy, i do hear you. we have a few dozen protesters out here, not happy that donald trump is in their neighborhood, they say. if you look around you'll look around and hear signs, what do you want? we want trump to go. this has been going on for an hour or so. at first it was a little bit tense. when they showed up, they tried to actually enter the church area, the gates over here. they were stopped by police. the horses got in the way. it was intense for a moment. since then they've been marching around in circles. over here you have the actual kwch, and people were entering from several hours ago, some who didn't have tickets were turned away. you asked about trump arriving. that happened down the street over here. they blocked it off for a while, for 45 minutes or so. so nobody was allowed over there except for our

jacob rascon is live in philadelphia where trump is about to speak. obviously, jacob, one of the big headlines is conflicting messages from donald trump regarding defense spending and the military cuts that he once supported and now does not. >> reporter: right. he's expected in about a half hour, running a little bit late. on that note, of the different decisions he's made before running for president and after he likes to explain those away by saying he wasn't a politician then, now he's a politician and pays better attention to what he's saying. we know tonight he'll offer a contrast between him and hillary clinton calling his plan america first and calling clinton's plan military adventurism. yesterday he used the words weak and incompetent to describe hillary clinton. tonight not expected to use those words, a bit more diplomatic, but wants to blame her for libya, iraq and other failures, as he cause them, over the last eight years. contrary to what he said several years ago, calling for an end to sequestration. congress has tried to do that every

jacob rascon is with the donald trump campaign out in michigan. have you gotten any reaction from the campaign yet? >> no, there is not been any reaction. >> reporter: i knew this was coming of course, and the attorneys from the trump campaign blocking this from happening and agreeing there was no threat or good reasonable reason from keeping it happening. some news for trump is this tweet storm started at 3:00 a.m. trump responded for those criticizing him for being up early tweeting. for those knocking me for tweeting in the morning, at least you know i will be there awake to answer the calls. he's talking about his stamina a lot that he's always ready for the call. that made a lot of sense for him to come back with that and not letting it go. lets read a couple of the tweets from earlier in case anybody missed them. while crooked hillary was duped and used by the media and by miss universe, -- he goes onto talk about how hillary believes that he thought she was a pair gone of virtue, that's bad judgment. she said he w he said she was conned. he

. >> nbc's jacob rascon is live in pittsburgh covering the trump campaign. why is donald trump saying stop and frisk is the way to go? >> so he has said, of course, as we know, what do we have to lose? talking to african-american voters. when pressed on specifics, now he's talking about stop and frisk, saying it worked incredibly well in new york. but of course, that is disputable, and he talks about stop and frisk when asked to describe what it actually is, he said it's about taking a gun away from those who have guns sothey have nothing to shoot with. of course, stop and frisk had more to do with guns, had also to do with really the police having the right to stop and question any pedestrian with any suspicion and take away drugs or anything. but the studies found that it wasn't as effective as they wanted it to be. not only that, in 2013, it was overturned and rejected as unconstitutional by a federal judge, saying that it indirectly racially profiled. now, on top of that, we can talk about as well how trump has said we need to profile. we have no choice.

and to that world stage moment, let's go to jacob rascon. he is in mexico city. jacob, i'm curious what you have been able to uncover regarding how this all played out yesterday. you have trump answering the question, the wall came up, not who would pay for the wall, immediately following mexico's president and another official seemed to be trying to clean up things with twitter. were they ambushed by trump discussing openly what happened in that private meeting? >> reporter: i think that what we saw were two trumps and two pena nietos. you had them together and separate saying different things. what we also learned -- it was clear what happened in the press conference that trump took a question and said oh, there was no discussion. and later the spokesperson for pena nieto and he himself tweeted -- he made it clear there would be no wall. so later, a spokesperson for the president told another paper, and trying to get this for ourselves, and it's a fine line here. what president pena nieto did was state, we will not pay for the wall, and trump didn't respond. mov
