my name is jacqueline phillips. i'm a member of the bay view hunters point community. we had two summer youth programs going this summer, one for the ninth graders, and one for the young adults, 18-25. both programs were a great success. we had a picnic just past weekend, and we allowed the participants to speak, to give their thoughts on the program. it was very heartwarming to hear the younger people speak, how it made a major difference to them to get extra help and to be able to pass courses. what was very impressive was the 18-25 group also. we had a young man stand and say how the person he worked with, the employer he worked with, had "certain things to him that he remembered. he applied them to his life. he said he would never forget these quotes. he was a 25-year-old. being in this program and being able to work for wages made a lot of difference to him to the point that when these young people spoke, it made all the difference that these programs were a success, not just on paper, but you could actually see and feel they were feeling. my understanding is ther

jacqueline is here tonight and she's been telling me about freezing fog! that sounds scary saying it! >> it's not fun. we saw it this morning in the north bay. it was very brief. but it could last longer in places like santa rosa overnight tonight. look at the current temperatures. already into the 30s in a number of spots. 36 in half moon bay, 36 in santa rosa and novato. 34 in fairfield, 38 in concord. it's cold out there, and it's going to get even colder. i see no justification for the models showing temperatures staying in the 40s. it's not going to. up in santa rosa , we're seeing mist. typically we see mist before fog. temperatures are close to the dewpoint. and they're going to continue to slide overnight. if it gets down to 32, 31, 30 like it did overnight last night, we're going to be seeing freezing fog. instead of the clouds, you see ice crystals clinging to your windshield and even the ground. definitely be aware of that tomorrow in santa rosa and napa too. possible freezing fog. and conditions still cold out there tomorrow morning. the aftern

i'm here in the weather center with jacqueline. our local weather has been pretty nice. she's talking about some chilly temperatures in the morning, and also still problems back east. >>> we have nothing to complaint about. back east, and in the mid-west, the instoeshgs and the heavy rain. and -- the snow, and the heavy rain. and the louisiana thunderstorms, in the afternoon, now it's pushing up to the northeast. you can see all the yellow on your screen. louisiana kind of in the clear right now. jackson also clearing out. seeing some heavier thunderstorms going toward atlanta though. and soon going to be heading into tennessee, sort of splitting, sheering apart as it moves to the northeast. wednesday morning, the areas highlight thered on your screen, we're going to be getting heavy rain tomorrow. then by thursday morning, up toward new york. and of that's the one we want to keep an eye on. obviously major cities, a lot of flights go through. if there's any delays there, they are going to trickle down to here in the bay area. >>> new details tonight. a 7-year-old boy ha

i'm here with jacqueline if in the forecast center, and the temperatures are dropping fast. >> they are. and it's because of the winds dying down. when you have gusty winds, the the temperatures tend to stay up. but right now, we're seeing calmer conditions, and that is helping to lead very chilly temperatures. the winds also brought in dryer air. so right now our dewpoints are very, very low. it's very dry out there. and temperatures can get down there in a hurry. novato, 27-degree, 31 in napa, 37 in oakland, 38 in los gatos. and it is going to get much, much colder from here. am a freeze warning through the north bay. through the east bay valleysing also down to the southbay. and a hard freeze warning through the delta and fairfield. we'll take a look at why the warnings are in effect and tomorrow's temperatures coming up. >>> around 4,000 nurgss went on a -- nurses went on a one day strike today. this the scene from the alta bates medical center in oakland. management is also asking for a reduction in sick pay. the nurs are not oblivious to what happened the last time they went on st
