jaime harrison joins me now. jaime, thank you so much. good to see you. >> good to see you. >> so let's start with your reaction to this graham ad. what did you think when you saw it? >> well, listen, don, you know, i just sort of -- i sort of expected these type of things to come out in this campaign, but i did not expect it to come from lindsey graham. you know, lindsey was somebody i used to respect. i thought when senator mccain was arrive that he was a guy that could rise above the fray, but what we see right now is a lindsey graham so concerned about his own political relevance, and because we are giving him the contest of his political life, you know, we are down by two points in the latest polls. i have out raised him these last two quarters. i think the desperation is coming out. and so lindsey graham may have darkened my face, but it's lindsey graham who the people of south carolina don't recognize. >> yeah. >> because this guy is very, very different. >> well, it's -- we don't have any recent polling, but so i'll take your word

joining me now is jaime harrison, democratic nominee for south carolina senator and former south carolina democratic party chair. mr. harrison, in a dead heat race, in a state that has been red for 30 years against an opponent that won double digits last time around, not doing that well. you're raising a lot of money. how do you explain this and how do you take it across the finish line for the democrats? >> it's good seeing you, rev. listen, we are building a grassroots movement like we have never seen here in south carolina. when i first told people over a year and a half ago that i was going to get in this race, they patted me on the shoulders and said, oh, that's nice. i knew they didn't believe that we could do it. but we have demonstrated in this race, because of the energy on the ground, because democrats, republicans, and independents are tired of the rubber stamp actions of lindsey graham that we are building a movement, what i call a new south, that is bold, inclusive, and diverse. in that movement, last quarter, i outraised lindsey graham. he raised 5.6 million, i raised 7.4. w
