jake, let's start with the two new star witnesses. who are they, what could we learn?> sarah matthews was a white house press official who is now working on capitol hill. kind of somebody who expressed concern let's say to say the least about former president trump's behavior on january 6, but has as you noted been silent since the insurrection at the capitol. matt pottinger as ashley could explain more was a senior aide who frankly a pretty well respected china expert in the republican party who was quite frankly somebody who former president trump leaned on a good deal during his tit for tat with china whether it came to trade or national security or anything of that nature. so i would imagine these would be two pretty high profile witnesses as you note. but in addition to that, this hearing is going to try to dissect those 100 something minutes that the capitol was under attack and donald trump said nothing. and furthermore, i think what is important to point out here is we're not seeing anything close to resembling the end of this probe which is quite notable becau

>> as best as they can, jake. especially as they face the possibility of facing the longest lasting heat wave in over a decade, if that forecast turns out to be true. when you look a these numbers coming from the national weather service, it seems there is at least no end in sight or at least not over anytime soon, with the temperatures expected to rise to the upper 90s, potentially even 100 degrees on sunday. it's why officials scaled back the new york city triathlon that is scheduled to go down on sunday. they have scaled back the distance for the running and the biking portion. not far from here in boston, officials there are deciding to postpone it altogether and holding that event in august when they hope things will cool down. really what we're hearing from new york city officials here is really the warning from people across the country, which is continue to stay hydrated, out of the sun if possible, and to check on those most vulnerable as they're the ones who stand the biggest risk. all in all, about 85%

>> well, jake, the former president certainly had some trepidation when it was made clear scipolloneg in and testify. he didn't do it publicly in the way cassidy hutchinson did, but really it's just as effective because there are these clips of his testimony. he was present for several of the key meetings. we had seen some rebuttals of cassidy hutchinson's testimony by saying she was quoting second-hand information or things she cipollone was actual lot of these meeting. he was able to flesh out these moments talking about the insane meeting in mid-december at the white house and what not. but also, there were moments where he went out of his way it seems almost to needle former president trump when it came to how his reaction is going to be watching the clips. it was a moment where pat s cipollone was talking about the role that vice president pence played that day by not doing what trump had suggested he do, and it unprompted, cipollone stopped the part of his testimony, part of his interview, and said he wanted to say something about pence, and this is what he said, jake. >> i tho
