johnson booster shot. tell us about why tomorrow's meeting is being so closely watched. >> it's being closely watched, jakeut folks who got the johnson & johnson vaccine. it was not as effective as either pfizer or moderna. and some experts have said it really should have been a two-dose vaccine from the start. now is sort of the chance. you can dahl it a second dose, a booster, whatever you want, but there is thinking that if any group needs a booster, it is this group. so the vaccine advisors will look at that data and they are going to do something else that's sort of interesting. they are going to hear about a study of more than about 450 people where they looked at mixing and matching. in other words, there is a group in this study that originally got johnson & johnson but then got a booster from pfizer and moderna. what's interesting is that mixing and matching in this study worked well, but especially well for folks who got j&j to begin with. those folks, they were actually better off getting a pfizer or moderna booster than getting a johnson & johnson booster. in other words, this is sort of laying

jake sherman is here, founder of punchbowl news and an msnbc contributor. jason johnsoncolorado. house impeachment manager during trump's second impeachment trial. congressman, i'm not an expert on very many things anymore many american politics but i promise you this. donald trump can lose again, but you have no guarantee that the winner will become the next president if nothing happens at the federal level. do people understand that? >> certainly the house democratic caucus understands it, nicole, and it's good to be with you. i think you articulated it well. really, the question facing the senate is a binary question, whether they will save democracy or not. i am hopeful that after tomorrow or i suppose wednesday's vote, cloture vote on the compromise measure that you described and that senator manchin has put forward, perhaps those two democratic senators that you referenced will have the clarity that they have apparently or ostensibly been looking for and that we can finally get to the business of doing what has to be done, which is ultimately performing a constitut

johnson vaccine. we just got the first match of data on pfizer's booster efficacy. what is the significance of all of this? >> well, this is interesting, jakewhat we had heard from pfizer was mostly that their antibodies went up in these people who received the booster so now we're getting real world data. did those elevated antibodies make a difference? they looked at 10,000 people over the summer during the delta surge. this covers delta. what they found was that people who got the booster versus people who got a placebo there was a big difference. there was only five people who developed symptoms in the actual booster group versus about 109 people who had symptoms in the placebo group. so that was some data now to show, look. we're not just increasing antibodies when we give the booster. but it makes a difference in terms of the likelihood of people getting sick >> i want you to listen to dr. fauci when he was asked about the confusing messaging some people are hearing from health agencies when it comes to boosters. >> i think now with the announcement that was just made from the fda and the recommendations that will almost certainly com
