the surprise homecoming for danville's jake javier. >> it was special to see in person all the support that i've had. up to this point i've just been hearing about it, seen pictures. >>> the 10:00 news on ktvu fox 2 starts now. >>> good evening i'm ken wayne. >> i'm julie haener. we begin tonight with developing news in benicia. a 12-year-old boy was behind the wheel. >> police are investigating the bizarre set of circumstances. the crash happened just before 5:00 this evening in the parking lot of the benicia senior center where a birthday party was being held. >> ktvu azenith smith is on the scene now after talking to police. azenith smith, what did you learn? >> reporter: well police have cleared the scene here, but we know everything happened in this parking lot. all the children were attending this birthday party here at benicia senior center. at this hour the 12-year-old driver and a 13-year-old boy who were also behind the car were injured and they are in the hospital with minor injuries. sadly that 4-year-old boy passed away and police are still trying to determine exactly how
