progressive challenger jamal bowman is leading the incumbent by 25%.d by speaker pelosi. is this progressive surge the future of new york state? >> it certainly appears that way right now. i think in 2018 it was easy for democrat establishment types to say, well, this is a socialist moment, it's a far left moment. we know it's more than a moment, it's a socialist movement within the democrat party, especially in the state of new york. that should be concerning for the larger democrat establishment across the country. these ideas might work in far left congressional districts. if they start to manifest themselves on the national stage it's going to be harder to win over some of those middle of the road voters that it requires to win. the further to the left they shift in the primary, the harder it's going to be to win in the general. aoc winning over 70% of her race to retain her incumbency, certainly appears she has a stranglehold in the district. i think people may call for her to run against schumer. she is clearly gaining popularity in her district.
