joining me now, goldie taylor and jamal simmons. thank you both for being here. >> good evening. >> thank you. >> goldie, if republicans wanted a fight with this president over obama care, they sure got one today, didn't they? >> they certainly did. i was sort of half watching the television set when the president walked up to the podium. when i heard him light into the gop today, i said where has that guy been? i was glad to see him today. i've got a friend of mine who lost his job a couple years ago and lost his health care. could not afford the cobra payments. and got tragically sick. wound up having to file bankruptcy. and the next job opportunity that was afforded to him, he did not get because he didn't have the credit rating that the company who was hiring him wanted him to have. there's a catch 22 here that people are locked in their jobs because they're afraid of getting sick or have an existing illness that won't be covered if they move to another plan. obama care solves that. one in four americans are literally locked int

ah, with me now to discuss "the washington post" political reporter jackie cusinich and jamal simmonsboth. jackie, i want to start with you because reading some of these stories, you have to wonder who is actually in charge. i mean, here you had -- there was a continuing resolution to try to vote on this week. and then, there was a sort of grim mick that boehner thought he could try to get the house to vote, get it over to the senate, make it so the senate didn't have to defund obama care and he got called out for it. they had to pull the continuing resolution. when's in charge? >> it's been a mess. and you know, the midst of that, you had the senate conservative fund, a group that jim demint started and now no longer affiliated with, calling the members and opposing the resolution you were just talking about. there are outside pressures coming in and, you know, these people don't want to be primaried and seeing a lot of that at play and republican leaders don't have anything to offer them anymore. there's no earmarks and don't care about committee assignments and trying to figure out
