james, good to have you here.o we're expecting all sorts of important data points later on this week. but really, a lot of eyes focused on the producer price index. and of course, the consumer price index that that key indicator of inflation here. what kind of readings do we want to see to kind of keep the markets calm like they are right now? yeah. >> good question. i think you're going to get those numbers. the producer price index is a measure what's called wholesale inflation or what economists call demand. so we're looking at what is the demand for products and services that are being produced. the last month that number came in at 0.2% annualized at 2.4. pretty good number. you want to see the numbers go up and not go crazy. the consumer price index is a measure of retail inflation. and that's kind of at about 2.96 right now, which is pretty good considering the historical average is about three and a quarter. okay. and the trend is clearly down from where it was when you and i were having these discussions
