bay today. the magnitude 3.6 earthquake hit before four this morning and was centered in el cerrito ktvu s james torres has reaction. it probably woke you up long before the sun rose that 3.6 magnitude earthquake centered under el cerrito is the talk of the town . i'm used to a longer actually a longer shake. you know, usually it's still moving and some trembles, but that one was like it just kept going, you know? so it was it did. it did get my attention, though big time inside this denny's restaurant along san pablo avenue employees tell me they heard and saw the damage happened as the earthquake hit. luckily no one was hurt, like, wait around for like, is anything else coming? people in this neighborhood lived right above the earthquake's epicenter felt the strong jolt. right? below us right below us. local first responders have not reported any serious damage or injuries. homeowners say if the so called big one is coming, it's scary to think, considering how much they felt a 3.6 quake. i'm kind of surprised that such a small thing and produced such a jolt. some say this is the prime opportun

it has been a soggy weekend around the bay area with rain turning into scattered showers. today. ktvu is james torres shows us some of the mess left behind from this week's storms and how the impact it could have on the california drought. it was pretty loud loud when a tree came crashing down on two cars in front of this pleasant hill home. i heard a big boom and we thought it was a thunderstorm. but when we looked over, it was the three that fell into our streets into our cars thursday and saturday soaked the bay area. rain led to washouts, local flooding and in some cases, property damage favorable . actually they were a little bit more than little showers. john monteverdi is a professor emeritus of meteorology at san francisco state. he says the showers won't wipe out the years long california drought, but it is starting to pack a punch. the last two years have been very dry. we don't need to catch all that up. all we need is a good year to get the reservoir the reservoirs up to a reasonable level, so i would say if we had a normal year this year that would be favorable in the sierra. thes

bay bridge, but it wasn't just a few minutes ago. spotty showers moving overhead. that has made for a wet morning as rain and jamesakes it feel even colder where we're sitting right now. you can see some spotty showers moving across the bay area. we're seeing light rainfall in san francisco down the peninsula on into the east bay pockets of heavier rainfall about to be dropping into the south bay. so much in this one really closely right here. saratoga, los gatos. it's picking up for you. and it's moving to the east over towards san jose. so get ready for that one. it's come for you right now that you're about to have a heavy rush of rainfall just in a minute. north bay, you've gotten relatively calm conditions at the moment. we do have an area that is produced lightning right along the sonoma mendocino county line. these showers are moving eastward. so expect that to drop into lake county here in a few minutes. it is wet enough that it's making for some slick conditions this morning. so taking a little slower out there. much of the north bay will be seeing areas of heavy rain this morning. even a few rolls of thu
