caltrans is working on a project that will keep ramps coming off the bay bridge closed. ktvu jamestells us about the crash that triggered these repairs. if you're coming from the east bay or even parts of san francisco that are close to the bay bridge. this construction won't just bother you today. but all weekend long. westbound 80 headed toward northern san francisco will be a tougher track this weekend. caltrans working on replacing a guard wheel on a ramp headed toward dortmund, one, a 11 of the busiest lanes in the bay area is now closed. this ramp carries a lot of traffic. and so the cars that would normally drive on this ramp now have to go to other ramps to get to their destinations in san francisco. and those ramps aren't as big they don't carry as much traffic. caltrans says. a semi truck smashed into the guard rail last october. that's what's prompting these repairs and closures today. more than 2000 cars. an hour will now be redirected. it's important that we fix it. it's concrete, so it has to set and that's why it takes a whole weekend to fix it. but when it's back in
