"so, discussion with the juneau empire" reporter james brooks. and the coming week, the house will take up several bills making changes to the 2010 health care law. of "thellivan hill," you have been writing there are political considerations in the debate. why do republicans want to take up these bills? i think republicans want to push back on attacks from democrats over rising obamacare premiums. in the past it was republicans attacking over these premium hikes but not democrats think it is an advantage, they can blame republicans for these premium hikes ahead of the election this year. so with the vote next week republicans can kind of try to push back on that and say, we are putting forward our own ideas on how to lower premiums, and democrats are opposing these . so this is our way to push back and change the narrative. host: one of those measures would repeal the medical device tax? who does that tax hit and white do they want to repeal it? part ofhat is obamacare. it is a 2.3% tax on the sale of medical devices. the medical device companie
