we were doing something with james brown. we shot all night. and had an interview with rob reiner -- that was his first directorial debut, although i think he might have directed a couple of episodes on "family," but this is his first movie. but i sat there and i was absolutely exhausted. but i didn't want to miss the audition because, many people don't realize that it was an improv'd movie with a 27-page outline, so you got a description of what the scene was and you had to be very good at improving. there were a lot of people who were great. i thought it was good so i wanted a chance at getting in the movie. i guess i was kind of tired and talking slow. rob said, you know, you aren't exactly what i was imagining, but i like what you are doing here. and i got the part of bobbie. it was an unbelievable -- that was a low-budget film, i provided my own wardrobe. we made up the lines as we went along and that was the enduring film that to this day is still on everybody's road with their's. and the other movie kind of went into cable heaven.
