joining us from new orleans, democratic strategist james carville.heard so are far what they said on the program. first you define what the biggest problem and where i'm going wrong and other guests, as well? >> i think it's a long range problem. since the 70s we haven't been able to grow incomes. between 1973 and 1995 everybody got a raise. around 1975 or so till now there is basically not been a raise for 65% of the people and we're having a hard time to figure out how to deal with this. right now currently the biggest problem we have had too much people unemployed and this is human tragedy of first order. we need to be looking at very closely to see what we need to do about this. >> bill: first problem about wages being stagnant and actually falling for african-americans under president obama, how does the leadership in america deal with that? does the federal government take over the private economy? how do you deal with that in system cap list particular system where competition drives wages? >> well, again, its long term problem has been going

joining me tonight the great james carville. he has been down this road a whole bunch of time. democrat strategist, political consultant and author of "it's the middle class, stupid." and let me respond to that. it sure is. if the democrats can't draw their line in the sand, james, what does this mean for the future of the party if they're going to turn over every time something like this comes up? your thoughts. >> first of all, i don't think they have turned over. secondly, this is what the republicans say. government doesn't do any good. it just gets in the way. so we're going to find out how much government gets in your way. you're talking about, you know, airports and you know custom officials. you're talking about national parks, a lot of things. we're going to get a good lesson here in this country of how -- what the government does and how it affects people. but they're completely unconcerned about this. john boehner said in april 2011 he got 98% of what he wanted. i'm not sure that a lot of that caucus is not just delighted with this. i really believe that. i think the

a couple well-known contributors who live in new orleans are leaving cnn, james carville and mary mat a challenge for "the new york times." the paper spent the last four months battling chinese hackers who penetrated its computer system after an ek po say of how the family of premier when ja bo made millions. the hackers using the same techniques as the chinese military gained access to the story's author and former beijing bureau chief. the "times" went public which could tick off the hackers and the chinese government blocked cnn international briefly while it was reporting on the story.
