it brings us to the pe cue lar thing that james comey said. this came in the section of the inspector general's report where he is trying to and failing to explain why it took the fbi a full month to begin the investigation of anthony wein weiner's laptop. the e-mails were discovered on september 28th and supervisors were alerted, who alerted washington that there was material on the laptop, about 300,000 or more e-mails that could be related to the hillary clinton e-mail investigation, which was an already closed investigation but perhaps needed to be reopened because of the anthony weiner laptop, the inspector general described some confusion between new york and the bureau. it was very, very clear that the one month delay hurt the clinton campaign very badly because if the investigation was announced earlier it would have ended a month earlier, october 6th instead of november 6th, two days before the election. and the clinton campaign would have had time to recover from what would have been a week-long set back in early october because of t

reporter: the report calls james comey's conduct insubordinate. comey said i was confident even if it disagreed with our decision, it would find the fbi team made it without regard for political favor or partisanship. the debate, kennedy, is far from over. kennedy: it will be fascinating in the coming days to see how each side uses this report to their advantage. we are still going through it and trying to glean the overall meaning from the details. the report shows there was a ton of bias in the investigation. it seems everybody had it in for president trump which raises an interesting question. how will the finding affect the mueller investigation? corey lewandowski is here. and he's a senior strategist at vice president parens' pac. within the report -- bias is interesting. everybody has some level of bias. the difficult thing is showing that that bias affected your work and also affected the outcome. although the inspector general says bias did not affect the conclusion. do you feel that it did? >> well, look, kim strasselle was just treating a

we begin with breaking news about the long awaited inspector's report about the conduct of james comey and the investigation into hillary clinton's e-mail server. it's already being seen through different partisan lenses. hillary clinton supporters say comey cost her the white house. before we get to any of that, we want to try to clear away the smoke and take care of the takeaways from the report. the inspector general found that comey deviated from norms about the case and in his letter to congress reopening the case days before the election. investigators uncovered another text exchange between lisa page and struck who was fired from mueller's team. in it, paige asked struck if trump would be president. no, no, he's not. we'll stop it. the inspector general did not have confidence that struck was free from bias when he prioritized the russia investigation over the anthony weiner e-mails. overall the inspector general report found there was no conspiracy against president trump in the 2016 clinton investigation. but it detailed a consequence of events that created the ingredients for
