. >> senate chaplain barry black and oklahoma senator james lankford led a prayer for the victims of the church shooting in charleston, south carolina. >> come to the mercy speak fervently, kneel. here, bring your wounded hearts. here, tell your anguish. earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. a church should be one of the safest places on the planet. and people assemble to lift their hearts in prayer and to hear the word of god as they were brutaly murdered in the house of god. our hearts ache for the families of the victims. our hearts ache for the citizens of charleston, south carolina. our hearts ache for our nation. and we pri and ask that god would somehow use up to end the insanity of violence that we see. our hearts ache because the alleged murderer killed without mercy. it didn't matter regarding gender. it didn't matter regarding this, because in the future people will feel fear in the house of god, when they should feel peace and serenity. our hearts ache because we must acknowledge that we all to some extent play a part in the pathology that we see in our land. john
