accession council, which includes senior government figures and privy counsellors, will meet at st james's palace king. this event will be broadcast for the first time in history. the queen's coffin is expected to leave balmoral on sunday, to be taken to the palace of holyroodhouse in edinburgh. it will be taken in a procession along the royal mile to st giles' cathedral for a service attended by members of the royal family. the queen's body will remain at st giles' for a period of lying at rest. the coffin will then be flown to london and will be taken to buckingham palace and then to the palace of westminster. and it is there, in the ancient space of westminster hall, that the queen's body will lie in state, with members of the public having the opportunity to pay their respects. the conclusion of these sombre events will be the state funeral, in around ten days' time, at westminster abbey, after which the queen will be laid to rest at st george's chapel, windsor. let's go live to st james's palace, where that formal proclamation will take place tomorrow, and speak to our diplomatic corresponde
