james robertson. he is one of the most distinguished names in civil war history. he is going to be speaking to you in a few minutes. he worked with president kennedy to help design and layout the 100th anniversary of the american civil war. he worked with president kennedy's family to help plan his funeral so it would have the same pomp and circumstance as lincoln's. he worked with the johnson administration to finish out the work he started with president kennedy. he is the author of more than 40 books. he wrote "stonewall jackson: the man, the soldier, the legend." that book won eight awards. he has been hailed as the father of virginia's state song, the anthem "our great virginia." it was adopted as the state song in 2015. in his 80's, he has not slowed down at all. his recent books include "the untold civil war," "after the civil war," and "civil war echoes and voices from virginia." he is currently working on an encyclopedic dictionary of robert e. lee. i am humbled this man even knows my name. i am proud he is here today. i would like to introduce to you dr.
