chief washington correspondent james rosen is at the state department tonight where he has new information about the terms of the president's consultation with congress. good evening, james. >> good evening. a senior state department official will me today that the president's doigs use force in syria is in no jeopardy of being overturned by the voting congress that the president has requested for the week after next. rather the aide made clear, the strikes will go forward even if congress rejects the use of force. that the aides said was the point of the president's speech, containing the lag language did it in which he asserted his legal right. other senior officials outside of this building weren't confirming that. only telling reporters as our ed henry just related, the door is being kept open for that. yet secretary kerry, aides said, was still able to call the syrian opposition president. after probe had spoken to reassure the rebel leader the u.s. remains committed, quote, to holding the assad regime accountable for its attack. the syrian coalition urges the international community
