listening to officers involved in the rescue of carlesha freeland-gaither, you heard detective james sloan there, he said he would not say something if he didn't believe. he delivered on the promise of bringing carlesha back to her family and her family is grateful for that today. >> detective sloan is resisting the badge the term hero, lots calling that detective and his partner a hero today. no doubt carlesha freeland-gaither's family is among them. lets switch live to chad pradelli, he is in maryland where the suspect delvin barnes was arraigned today via video conference. >> reporter: wearing an orange jump suit, and giving answers like yes, sir, and no, sir to the judge, delvin barnes was held without bond. soon they will arrive here and pick him up and take him back to maryland where he faced charges for another heinous kidnapping. he was arraigned via video, cameras were not allowed in the courtroom and he waived his right to an extradition hearing and now he sits in the detention center, now they have five days to pick him up and take him to virginia where he is wanted for picking

. >> reporter: so dramatic, the detective is james sloan and he never gave up hope he could get carlesha back, he is a 22 year vet and he was humble today talking to the media on a case that became known around the nation, surrounded by his fellow detectives, sloan thanked everyone that helped out in this investigation, detective sloan was seen last night hugging carlesha's mother just hours after the 12e-year-old was rescued in maryland. sloan promised the mom he would get carlesha back and he felt good that he made good on that promise. he described what it was like when he called with the great news. >> she answered the phone and she sounded all gloomy, i said why do you sound so gloomy, and she said why? and i said we found your sister and she is safe and her mother got on the phone and i said your daughter is home and safe. >> he travelled to carlesha at the hop and it was a touching moment when he walked in and said i have been looking for you and at that moment everyone began to cry and they were tears of joy and relief and this case was so stressful but satisfied with the end res
