(lydia) an officer involved shooting leaves one person dead in livermore. it happned just before 9 last night on via deste. officers were called to the area after witnesses say a person was acting bizarrely and challenging people to a fight. the person refused to listen to officers commands and went into a home where they armed themselves with a gun. police negotiated with the person for a few hours before a fire was lit inside the home and the person came out the home with a shotgun. that's when officers shot him. the person was pronounced dead at the scene. fire crews put out the fire inside the home. no officers or other people were hurt.
