jana. >> heather and alex. that boy is a student at apalachee high school, which is about 54 miles northeast of atlanta and this afternoon we have learned that the victims who were killed include two students and two teachers. now, along with those four victims, there were about 30 people who were injured, including nine who were taken to local hospitals. according to the georgia bureau of investigation, they say that the shooter in custody is 14 year old colt gray. the shooting happened during class. it was around 1030 this morning, local georgia time and witnesses say that he left the class and then came back with a gun and started opening fire. now, there were two school resource officers who apparently confronted him. and then he surrendered. surrendered to authorities. the barrow county sheriff got very emotional today as he spoke about the incident, saying that he was born in this community and he has children in the school system. >> my heart hurts for these kid. my heart hurts for our communit. but i wa

man charged in the killing of cashapp founder bob lee appeared before a judge in san francisco, ktvu jana katsuyama was inside the courtroom and explains what happened in that pretrial hearing. >> defense attorneys for nimmo momani arrived at the hall of justice wednesday along with his mother. the judge considered a long list of pretrial motions from prosecutors and the defense. momani, a former tech consultant, has pleaded not guilty to murder in the april 20th, 23 killing of cash app founder bob lee, who was found stabbed with a kitchen knife. wednesday's hearing has big implications for how the trial will proceed, according to criminal law expert michael cardoza. >> motions before trial are really important because what they do is they streamline the case for the jury. so the attorneys and the judge aren't taking breaks every ten minutes to decide certain issues. >> one request by prosecutors asked the judge to prohibit nicknames from bob lee's social media site, where he refers to himself as crazy bob. the defense argued that there is no reason to ban a name that lee called himself.

jana katsuyama you said your family has a special connection to the a's. can you share? >> oh well, okay. so along with that root beer float day, when i first got, you know, here and i was reporting one of our, my mother's cousins, she is a huge she was a huge fan and she and her husband actually signed up to be extras in the movie moneyball. and they got picked. and so they were so thrilled. they got all decked up in their a's gear. they were told to come here in the middle of the night. so they were here and they, you know, people would point and they'd say, cheer now and they would go crazy and cheer. and then they what? they ended up doing, they said, is they replicated them digitally. so we couldn't actually see them. but they said it was so much fun and they were there and they were part of it. and you know, my mom's cousin has since passed away, but we came back here before she died with her, and that was one of the biggest moments, is just seeing that joy that a sports team, a franchise, a place can bring to people. it was really special. >> i hope they get to me
