jana. >> heather and alex. the suspect is a member of an affluent family in maryland, and his mother apparently reported him as a missing person to san francisco police, according to a source who spoke with the sf standard. san francisco's police chief today declined to comment. you did see today mangione trying to shout out a message as he entered court. deputies escorted the suspect, 26 year old luigi mangione, to the blair county courthouse in pennsylvania tuesday. he shouted out as deputies led him inside. clearly out of touch and insult the intelligence of the american people and the experiences. mangione was arrested monday night in altoona, pennsylvania, after a customer noticed him eating in a mcdonald's restaurant. these photos from the pennsylvania state police show him holding what appeared to be hash browns. another photo shows him in a holding cell after he was taken into custody. police say he was carrying fake ids, one matching an id used by the suspect at a new york hostel, a passport, cash and

our jana katsuyama has been monitoring the situation and joins us now live in the newsroom. jana. >> heather and alex, a law enforcement officer, told the associated press that the shooter was a 17 year old girl, and the police chief in the past 15 minutes says they're not prepared to release many details right now, but they're planning to have another briefing in about an hour and a half. this shooting happened at the abundant life christian school in madison, wisconsin, about 1057 this morning. central time police say the teenage suspect was a student at the school. right now, the latest update is two people are dead. that's one teacher and one student. the shooter also is dead, and six others were taken to the hospital with injuries. two of the students are in critical condition with life threatening injuries. the chief just said that one teacher and three other students were treated for more minor injuries. the abundant life christian school is a small, non-denominational school with about 420 students. that's from kindergarten up through 12th grade, according to officia

jana. thank you. new information now about a shooting at an elementary school in northern california this afternoon that left two children wounded. and the suspectedunman dead. the shooting happened at the small feather river adventist school in the town of palermo in butte county. there was a large police response this afternoon. as you can see from this overhead view. the butte county sheriff says the gunman arrived at the school to meet with the principal about enrolling a student. now, after the meeting, the principal said he heard shots and screaming. two boys, ages five and six, were shot. they were taken to a hospital. right now we do not know their conditions. deputies say the gunman was found dead of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. one student said she heard the gunfire. >> you heard some gunshots? >> i did. i also saw them. the shooter go across a window, like pacing back and forth and then we were running to the gym. i looked back and i saw a shadow with a gun. so i told most peop
