jane king with the "moneyscope" report. jane? >> yeah.now, eric and kristen, only in text books. many heard of this not since the '70s but rising consumer prices and a weak jobs market. so that's what's known as sagflation. not a good mix for the economy. rose more than expected and came in higher than forecast. just about everything went up in price last month. technology as well as cars. here's how the markets look so far today, the dow, s & p and nasdaq are trading lower and the bloomberg silicon valley index trading down as well here. tech companies are getting a lot of attention today. president obama is going to be meeting with top execs from apple, google and facebook.com among others in the bay area and strategy session talking about creating hi-tech jobs. there's a story online speculating about the possible deteriorating health of steve jobs who is one of the people sources say president obama will meet with later today. you might find some good buys at car dealerships. you may find big discounts on 2011 models over the weekend.

i'm jane goldman. i've been a psychiatric nurse of san francisco general hospital for the past 30 years. i believe that the police can learn to deal better with psychiatrically ill patients because in 1980, in the 80's we trained all the rookies in the sfpd. you guys aren't old enough to know this, but i am. we gave them classes, pro-bono from psyche emergency where i worked on how to deal with 6 c1 worked on how to deal with mental health patients who are out of control. and in answer to dr. marshall's questions, very briefly, there are de-escalation techniques that i believe the memphis police use, they just maybe can't articulate what you want to hear. i can give you a couple examples. most paranoid schizophrenic patients are off their meds and they are scared out of their minds. they are hearing voices. they think the police are coming to get them. just as they do in psyche emergency. so instead of saying, ok put the knife down. what we in psyche emergency would do is hey, you look really upset. ca
