joining us now jane sanders, the wife of bernie sanders, a key member of his presidential campaign, critically important adviser to her husband as well. jane, thanks very much for joining us. >> good to be here, wolf. >> so how do the democrats from your perspective plan to work with the republicans and the trump administration? >> unlike the republicans who sometimied president obama right from the beginning and said don't work with him whether he is right or wrong, we'll work with him when he is right, and we will oppose him when he is wrong, and hold him to some of the words he used to get elected. like saying he wouldn't cut social security and medicare and medicaid and that he was a different kind of politician. we'll see. hopefully he will work on infrastructure with him. the democrats will work with president trump if he is serious about increasing jobs and protecting social security. >> so there are some areas of agreement. infrastructure, as you point out, building new roads, bridges, airports. that's an area where democrats and the trump administration clearly can get along. i know t

i remember asking jane sanders, too, who was a key part, his closest adviser, and trying to talk to herbout how she felt about the fact he was running against the woman who eventually became the first female nominee, so it was a very difficult subject to grapple with especially because she had this background in liberal politics. >> it's funny hearing you say that. i think about how much more policy was covered in the primary than the general election because when i look back on covering bernie and hillary, i think wow, i remember talking about policy. >> minimum wage. families. >> you've been in positions of leadership in the news room, which is really important. do you feel that having women as the decision makers in news room, especially in an industry such as television that's been dominated by white males, do you think you approach things differently? do you lead your reporters and producers differently because of where you're coming from? >> i would say, i don't think i approach them differently. but being a woman is sort of one of those things where it's like being a woman is bei
