janeen. >>reporter: tori, i'm told there weren't too many people out here when this happened at around midnight, so that's why investigators are going to be looking to see if there's any surveillance video from the fairmont or any of the surrounding businesses that may have captured what happened out here. the man who was stabbed was found on the ground near the newspaper stands here on market street. officers say a witness called 911 after seeing people fighting on the sidewalk across from caesar chavez park at around 12:20 this morning. and when police arrived, they found a man who was suffering from at least one stab wound. he was rushed to the hospital where he died. police collected evidence at the scene and are interviewing potential witnesses back at the police department. i asked if this appears to be a robbery or if it's gang related and was told that it's just too early to tell. investigators don't have a motive in this case, and at this point they're not putting out any suspect inf
