i'm janelle wang and i'm raj mathai. a shocking and disheartening story involving a south bay school community. the pta president is accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from from the school. nbc's ian cole has the exclusive new details on the arrest and investigation. the parents at shollenberger elementary school in san jose say they're disgusted after hearing the former president of their home and school association allegedly stole more than $400,000 from the school's account. prosecutors claim the theft happened over four years when she was the group president. 51 year old taissa night was arrested by san jose police tuesday. investigators say between 2019 and 2023, night wrote 45 checks to herself and her husband. now these were supposed to be reimbursement checks for services that weren't even rendered right. so she had invoices that weren't true, weren't real. the investigation began when night left her position on the board last summer. melissa martin is one of the new board members who took over

i'm janelle wang. the a's are expected to meet about a possible move to sacramento.y are reporting that the a's are meeting today in sacramento to discuss the possibility of the team playing at sutter health park. it's the aaa home of the rivercats. the move there would cost the team $67 million in annual broadcast revenue. also, sutter health is a smaller stadium where the a's play. as you can see, the a's can't even fill that right now. attendance at the coliseum has been horrible as fans stay away from the a's because they are upset over the impending move to las vegas. the a's lease at the coliseum expires at the end of the baseball season. the team is looking for a temporary home until 2028 when construction of the new $1.5 billion stadium is supposed to be completed on the las vegas strip. yesterday, the a's met with oakland to negotiate a new lease extension there at the coliseum. it doesn't appear those talks were productive. the a's said they were far apart on terms needed to agree on an extension. the city is asking for $97 million in rent over five years.
