. >> i'm janelle martinez, we've got breaking news we're covering southbound i-75 at still blocked. >>> i-75 southbound still blocked following a fatal crash. you can see the backups starting to build, past river view drive on gibsonton drive. let's widen this out. 50 miles an hour, just as you head to gibsonton drive. they are moving cars off at gibsonton drive and getting off ought i-75 but it's causing delays. a lot of drivers are getting off at 301 and taking that down. we're starting to see that slow down as well to 30 miles an hour there. so it's just depends where you're coming from and where you're going. if you want to wait out the traffic or make a detour, either way expect delays. i'll let you know here and of course on twitter what it's doing throughout the morning. elsewhere in the bay area looking pretty good. no crashes or breakdowns. heading to downtown. once you get to downtown, it's five minutes to the howard frankland and five minutes from the howard frankland to downtown. ivan, how's the weather? felt pretty nice. >>> it looks great. in fact starting cool, some are

janelle martinez gives us a look at what to expect tomorrow morning on the roadways. >> hi. we're starting off with an extended closure in downtown tampa. east tyler street. that intersection is closed for the next eight weeks. detour signs will be posted. also we have an extended detour in lutz. it is closed at crystal lake road for railroad crossing repairs. this will be happening for the next two weeks. detour signs posted as well. but they will take you to mavery to get around that. van dyke is closed starting at 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. detour signs will be posted. leave extra time there. and an overnight closure here at hutchinson and waters right at the veterans expressway. thursday. for more on these and other closures, make sure that you action traffic. >>> a manatee county man is behind bars tonight for murder. he was arrested this morning for the 2015 murder of kevin mccats. he was shot outside of a home back in december. deputies say a group of men pulled up for a car and called for him. then he was shot and killed. brewer was one of several men inside the car.

more on this overnight coverage of democracy 2016 in a minute but first janelle martinez is here with the breaking traffic alert. what is going on out there? howard frankland blocking two lanes, you can see the flashing lights. cars just getting by in the inside lane. this is just after the hump as you head into tampa. traffic still pretty light so we're not seeing a significant delay, it's still taking only six minutes to get across the howard frankland but as the morning rush hour pushes on we could see the drive times increase. i'll watch it. we're also watching the sunshine skyway, it's open but it is foggy up at the top. highway patrol asking drivers to use caution. let's hope this bridge stays open because your detour is the howard frankland. just a quick heads up, we have a closure on the veterans from ehrlich to van dyke due to construction in both directions. we expect that to reopen any minute now, at least by 5:30. >>> busy morning so far but let's hope the sunshine skyway stays open. >> yes, especially with the crash. the fog continues. this is going to be an issue because

janelle martinez will have live at 5:00. >>> a driver in pittsburgh didn't quite stop where he wanted to yesterday. he missed a turn, crashed through a brick barrier and fence and ended up on the roof of a grocery store. the driver claims he swerved to miss another car that cut him off. witnesses though say even if it was the case he was going too fast to make that turn. it took a crane to lift that suv off the roof. >>> caught on camera -- a would be robber picked a bad time to pull a gun on a pennsylvania taxi driver. this is surveillance video from a camera in the taxi. shows the man getting in and pointing a gun at the driver. what that would be robber didn't notice is there a taxi. the deputy saw what was happening, turned on his lights and approached the taxi asking if there was a problem. when he saw the gun he drew his own weapon and ordered the robber out of the taxi. the robber was arrested, the taxi driver wasn't hurt. >>> new developments in the fifa bribery scandal. french soccer federation's headquarter they were morning seizing documents as they build their case against

janelle martinez has the lowdown on the streets to avoid. if you're heading to downtown tampa on saturday, you're not alone. several events happening all at the same time, including the river o'green and the gasparilla bike race that will close streets in downtown. we have bark in the park. now, streets will start closing around 6:00 in the morning. some of the streets, polk, zag and twigs will be closed. they're hoping to have them back open by 8:00 in the evening. also some construction going on at 275 and some of the entrances over in pinellas county. some possible road work happening overnight. this would affect a 54th avenue south and 26th avenue south overnight this weekend. for more on these and other projects happening, make sure that you check out my facebook page at abc action traffic. >>> a nun in pennsylvania is facing shoplifting charges that's right. she is in the black sweater. toiletries. they rushes out of the store without paying. least. i was shocked. i couldn't believe it, that a nun would do something like that. >> the w

janelle martinez hassed latest. >> there's no easy way around getting around the sunshine sky way. here is a live picture at the very top. very foggy out there. let's look at your alternates. of course i-75 if you are heading north, that's flowing well right now. if you are in pinellas county, you have to take one of the other three bridges across tampa bay and across through tampa and head south on i-75. good the news here, all three some of you will be taking the gandy on the expressway. that's flowing nicely as well. no crashes or breakdowns to slow you down. we have one crash to tell about you state rod 674 at carlton lake road is closed right now in both directions. we have a serious crash here with injuries, emergency vehicles and live wires across the roadway. it has the road completely shut down. you have to take bomb wymomma road to suite 672. and this could be shut down in both directions for some time. elsewhere, through the bay area, no crashes or breakdowns. look how clear it is. ivan, we've been talking about the fog out there, but clear heading through downtown tampa

. >>> here's the roads with janelle martinez. >> we have incidents reported on i-75 southbound, here we are at i-75 and fowler, traffic looking great here but a little further north at fletcher someone twooted me and said an 18-wheeler spilled a ton of bark in the roadway. that may take time to clean up. so make sure you watch for that. and even further north we have a crash here southbound i-75 at bruce b downs, fhp reporting road block in the outside lane. however, traffic indicators in the green leading right up to the crash so i'm not seeing a major delay here. i'll keep an eye on it and let any delays. let's check the drive times on i-75, still in the green, 21 minutes from 52 to i-4. and 10 minutes from the apex to i-4. >>> this morning we've got positive signs that any rain we see this summer won't or hopefully won't, cause the flooding mess we saw last summer especially for people in pasco county. >> one county commissioner there took a tour of the improvements made in some areas. commissioner starkey said she wanted to see for herself how their efforts will help prevent the
