janelle wang joins us with more. >> raj, jessica, witnesses of the mass shooting are talking. they say they overheard the suspect saying he was there to shoot black people. handcuffed and wearing a bulletproof vest police in north carolina took dylann roof into custody. 291-year-old was arrested during a traffic stop this morning. he surrendered without incidence. about 14 hours earlier in south carolina roof went to this african-american church in charleston, sat through a bible study and opened fire killing nine. he was caught walking into the church on surveillance video. >> to say our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families and their community doesn't say enough to convey the heartache and the sadness and the anger that we feel. >> also at the nation's capitol, lawmakers stood outside to pray for the victims. back in charleston, south carolina families in mourning. the historic church known as mother emanuel is the oldest after fran methodist church in the osu. the pastor of the church was a south carolina senator as well as the manager of a local library. >>
