we're joined by janessa webb. how are things looking at this hour?we're looking at a very disjointed storm system that continues to really remain offshore across southwest florida. but we have these heavier bands that are impacting sarasota into the tampa area and that's going to continue to increase for at least the next 24 hours. right now, we still have a hurricane with our latest update at 11:00. it's 65 miles southwest of tampa, florida. we still have that forward north movement of 14 miles per hour and it continues to be on track with sustained winds of 75 miles per hour. we're going to continue to watch this movement in this area. what happened in the last few hours is in that warm body of water and it allowed the storm system to really intensify. now, we'll continue to watch this overnight. we have storm surge concerns that stretch even for the keys all the way into the panhandle. tomorrow morning we'll continue to see the storm system offshore but really the center of circulation will not make its way into cedar keys area, into the panhandle
