officials in janesville said he broke into a gun shop, 120 miles southeast of where they arrested him. matt finn has more. >> this is a huge sigh of relief for millions in wisconsinationwide. this man was considered armed and dangerous and at-large and the talk here, people were afraid to be in public, afraid to go to church in wisconsin, afraid of what police say could have been easily been a mass shooting. now the man is behind bars. take a listen. >> we could not have asked for this matter to have ended better. no officers were hurt, nobody was harmed. mr. jakubowski was taken into custody without any injuries. >> authorities are saying this was an investigation of epic proportions. 250 men and women including fbi and atf were tracking the guy down. they were fortunate to mow of the manifesto because that's what tipped him off. he was caught can guns, ammo and a vest of heavy artillery. police say they're withholding details to protect the integrity of this investigation. so very good news on this good friday, this monday at large and a very big threat to the public right now behind bars. >> and jakubowski was no stranger to the law. >> he was not. he was pull

wisconsin residents are on edge this weekend and authorities are keeping a close eye out on churches after discovering alarming detail in the manifesto. this comes after police working on a tip rated at janesville home last night. nothing termed up from that. 150 members of law-enforcement are searching around the clock. the started tuesday when joseph -- mailed his lengthy manifesto to donald trump. it had hatred for law-enforcement and a call for rebellion in the cell phone video be for putting the manifesto in the mail. >> anybody quÉbec that this letter might want to read it. it's a revolution. it's time for change. >> later that night he allegedly stole 16 firearms from a gun shop, tortious car and then disappeared. please have been going through his manifesto and say it makes generic threats at schools, police and possibly places of worship. it has caused law-enforcement to step up patrol to churches and other religious of venues. one church canceled its palm sunday services this weekend. we learned he is not a stranger to law-enforcement. past charges include battery, multiple charges for resisting arrest. >> there is one specific case where he attempted to disarm a police officer. not f

janesville is the police chief there david moore and rock county cheever robert spoden. chief moore, where does the investigation stand right now in finding this man? >> we have many assets here in wisconsin fbi, atf, we have over 542 leads that we're following up on. this is the largest footprint of law enforcement that we have seen in the janesville and rock county area probably forever and we're following up on every lead we get from our citizens in the community. >> i know you guys are working around the clock. sheriff spoden, was there any particular -- are you learning was there any particular incident or anything that set this guy off? >> well, he's had a long history of run-ins with local police. he actually was arrested for trying to disarm an officer. he has had a history of traffic citations, but as far as this, what we have found is that this is something that really occurred in the last few months where he kind of went in a totally different direction and started really speaking about revolution and things such as that. >> right, and that manifesto of his that he was targeting schools and government officials and, chief moore, we know janesville is the home of the speaker of

wisconsin residents are breathing easier this morning. an intennive search ended friday on a farm 120 miles northwest of janesville for a fugitive who allegedly stole an arsenal of weapons and said he wanted to commit vie legislate acts against the government. here's demarco morgan. >> we said all along we wanted a peaceful resolution to this situation and today we have that conclusion. >> reporter: a ten-day manhunt involving more than 250 law enforcement officers ended after a farmer spotted joseph jakubowski on his farm. he spoke to him for about an hour but then became suspicious. >> one thing he said over and over is no one listens to me. >> reporter: jakubowski had everyone on edge all week. police confiscated four handguns, a long rifle, samurai-type sword, vest, several boxes of ammunition and a copy of his 161-page manifesto. sheriff robert spoden. >> reporter: the fbi offered a $20,000 reward for his capture. it only took one tip to find him. >> it was a good tip from the farmer. >> reporter: jakubowski is no stranger to the prison. he faced a federal judge in madison earlier friday and is now in the rock county jail. for "cbs this
