psychiatrist janet taylor and howard bragman. janet, let me begin with you.being used. you heard it from chuck knox, many times. trauma. >> she was 20 years old when she went into a prison. she has to think about what she suffered. and suffered is a word they use a lot. let her talk about whatever trauma she suffered and then the mental health professionals can help her. >> how does she talk about it now? >> to ask her what her experience is. not everyone that suffers has posttraumatic stress disorder. probably 50% or maybe even less have it. just allow her the time to talk about ha she experienced and what she has felt. and then, she can move on. >> is this the kind of thing where you push her to talk about it? you set up structured conversations? or let her come to you? >> a combination of both. she will talk with her family. her family's been with her the whole way. but given the opportunity to talk to a professional, so she can leave it in the office with the professional. and they can analyze and work with her. >> and the family makes all the difference.
