heather: janice dean is here with the fox weather forecast. >> janice: felt a little chilly this morning, temperatures below freezing in the great lakes and midwest, this area of high pressure and that cold air sinking southward, 5 to 15 degrees below average. detroit 46 is the daytime heart, 55 in charlotte, 49 in memphis and we deal with potential, texas and the gulf coast as the next storm system develops and the area of low pressure moving slowly so that means more chances for heavy rain depending on where the area of low pressure sets up. normally it would be good news but they have seen a lot of rain in texas that will cause flash flooding concerns. the rest of the country is quiet. the next storm system moving into the west will bring coastal rain and mountain snow. for much of the country, cooler temperatures so your daytime high in chicago 45, 60 in atlanta, 60 in dallas which is cool for this time of year your forecast looking at potential for heavy rain in parts of the south and the lake effect snow is cranked up because we have the relatively warm waters of the great lakes co

janice, good morning. >> good morning. a quiet start to the workweek which i like.a storm system moving into the west and temperatures will go up across the central u.s. 51 right now in chicago, 50 in new york, 52 in dallas and that temperature, the warmer temperatures are going to move towards the east coast. so we're going to get even warmer the rest of the workweek. we do have cooler air moving into the northwest in addition to a storm system that's going to move in and bring the potential for heavy rain and mountain snow. you can see, not a whole lot on the radar. we have a weak system that will move across the upper midwest and great lakes over the next couple days and the west remains very active. this has been the story over the last few weeks into the month and then the snow forecast, we're going to get heavy snow in the mountains, great for skier as we go through the sierra nevada and the plains states. the rest of the forecast looks good and quiet and nice in new york city so take advantage of it. ashley: finally. carley: all is calm, all is bright and war
