check in with our senior meteorologist janice dean tracking all the winds out there. janice?> janice: another day where we could get wind gusts that could hamper efforts. take a look at the wind gusts yesterday, 47 miles per hour image mountain and winds exceeding 60 miles per hour. that's exactly the set-up that we will see today, particularly dangerous situation until 3:00 p.m. local time. and winds in excess of 40, 50, even 60 miles per hour in some of the areas that are affected by the wildfires. still burning out-of-control. the eaton and the palisades, they really have not gotten a handle on this and that's not going to help with those winds in the forecast. so, today we have got elevated critical danger and then tomorrow an elevated risk for southern california and then the smoke as well. we haven't talked about that but the smoke is going be lingering in this area for many days, many weeks. and the forecast, you know, that's a beautiful looking forecast but, unfortunately, no rain at all in the foreseeable future. so, if you get that set up, again, which might happen

senior meteorologist janice dean tracking the winds in california and they continue at this hour. >> yeah, particularly dangerous situation yet again for all of these areas that are dealing with wildfires. and we have a fourth wildfire that broke out last night. obviously zero percent containment. now, we do have relative humidity. that's going up. that's going to go down in the next few hours as the winds come out of the mountains. high pressure. and the counterclockwise winds that funnels through those valleys and canyons, dries the winds out. speed out there and potentially, could you know, make these wildfires spread rapidly. we could see explosive behavior, that we saw this time last week with winds in excess of 60 to 7. that's not 100 miles per hour. but it's still going to be very difficult for firefighters to get in there and contain these wildfires that continue to burn in this particularly dangerous situation. so same setup that we saw on tuesday. and we didn't have any wildfires, now we have several that are burning, so elevated critical extreme for today through wednesday
