janine? >> reporter: yes, this is a very bold move by the inmates as they actually tied together bedsheets and clothing and then, threat outside a second -- through that outside of a second story window. this happened in the part of the jail that is behind this building. this whole area is blocked off. that's because the jail is on lockdown. not too far away going on right now is the turkey trot thousands of people are in downtown san jose that is of course still going on plenty of officers are doing security so, you can head down to that area. but don't be surprised if you see a lot of police patrol. dozens of deputies are looking for these two men. deputies say that it appears that they had used something to cut those bars and that's how they got out at about 11 pm. a correctional officer patrolling the perimeter spotted movement and he saw the inmates are ready on the ground. for inmates escaped but they were able to catch two of them. they have been on the run for nearly 10 hours. helicop

janine joins us with more on the story, janine? >> reporter: campbell is back behind bars here at san jose's main jail. he is being held without bail, you can bet authorities questioned him on where he has been the last several days, mercury news is reporting that campbell was caught near antioch sometime yesterday. a witness that saw police activity said it happened at an apartment complex there. campbell had been locked up since february of last year on charges of robbery and criminal threats. he escaped from the main jail the night before thanksgiving along with three other inmates. they cut through steal window bars and used bed sheets to lower themselves from a second story window. two have been caught and now one remains at large. chavez, they thought he was hiding inside of an r-v that was parked yesterday, but no one was inside. >> it is a little scary to have people running around, knowing they are inmates and you done know what they are capable of doing and you don't know what they could do, next. >> reporter: authorities

ktvu's janine de la vega you're in san jose. this new report says the high cost of housing has a lot to do with that. good morning. >> doug: good morning, day. a lot of people we have been speaking to have not surprised by the findings of the new report. to give you an example of the high price of housing, in the cambria neighborhood, i looked on realtor.com. a 3-bedroom house, 1500 square feet is selling for about a million dollars. the real estate data firm core logic found that for every person who is moving into california, there are three californians who are moving out of the state. and the sellers are moving completely out of california. beacon economics found that between 2007 to 2014, 625,000 people left california. many of them moved to texas, or o nevada and arizona. they're fed up with the high housing costs and turns to states where it's more affordable. >> it doesn't surprise me. it really hurts my heart. and i don't know what the solution is. >> i have a roommate. we are a family of four with a fifth person living

janine de la vega is in palo alto now. uber driver was arrested and accused of groping and stalking that female passenger. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, dave. yeah. this is disturbing news for people who use uber. i was speaking to women this morning about the incident. they say they use the app and they were shocked to hear what happened. and it made them feel uneasy. police say that the uber driver, 35-year-old pedro laborio was arrested on sunday on charges of felony sexual battery and stalking. police say he had dropped off a man and woman at a home on alpine roads near the city line. the woman who is in her 40s says she called the driver after realizing that they left a phone in the car. >> the victim went outside to meet him and retrieve the phone. after he gave the phone back to her, he then suddenly kissed her and groped her breast. she immediately pushed him away, ran back inside of her house. >> reporter: the woman reported the incident to uber. an hour later, the driver said he was outside of her home
